Selena Čauš Sujoldžić joins Monclova law as a Family Law Senior Attorney. Selena brings nearly two decades of legal experience to the firm, with the last 13 years devoted almost entirely to family law. A graduate of the University of Kansas School of Law (Class of 2006), Selena has built a reputation for navigating high-conflict and high-asset cases with skill, strategy, and uncommon humanity.
An expert in custody matters, Selena approaches every case with one central belief: divorce does not have to be toxic. She is deeply committed to minimizing conflict rather than inflaming it—because in her view, the courtroom should be the last resort, not the first stop.
Selena’s philosophy is simple but powerful: an attorney’s job is to counsel the client—not “lawyer” them to death. She guides clients through uncertainty with clarity, prepares them for life on the other side of litigation, and helps build co-parenting structures designed for long-term success and emotional peace.
Her passion for human dignity runs deep outside of practice as well. Selena spent 10 years working with a national human rights organization in Washington, D.C., serving as a board member and academy instructor on human rights issues. That experience shaped her core values and sharpened her instinct to protect the vulnerable—especially children.
Selena’s roots also shape who she is as a lawyer. At age 13, she arrived in the United States as a refugee from Bosnia. That journey taught her resilience, adaptability, and the power of compassion—qualities she brings to every client she serves.
Outside of the courtroom, Selena champions kindness, believes humor can coexist with hardship, and is living proof that even difficult chapters can lead to extraordinary next ones.
